I know some people don't like this cd, but I love it. The music is great and it's fast! All the songs on this cd are good. I like all of them, not one of them displeases me. Guitar work is sweet, it's metalcore, and it's good. The vocals! I like Jason Stinson's vocals a lot, they kind of remind me of Coalesce's style.
Lyrics are really really good. The first song is about abortion and it addresses some of the after effects of it and how people who are pro-life are often thought of as stupid for taking a stand. This was the second "brutal" cd I ever got, so of course it reigns supreme among most of my other cds. The song when beauty dies discusses the problems with sex before marriage and pornography, which I know is a plaguing problem of today's society. This band addresses a lot of problems that people face I really admire this band. I hope you got to see them at least once live, they're really cool.

Dead Zine 2002Reviewed by sesspoolThis is a very good hardcore album... that has to be said first and foremost here. Overcome is the true original pioneers of what is now known as hardcore. Just because the Focused made a couple albums of strange and weak hardcore two years before overcome made their powerful debut Blessed Are the Persecuted, does not mean that most bands found their entire influence from the Focused. Well, we haven't reviewed it on DEAD and this LP is available all over the place and many of you guys who don't have this will for sure run across it. First off this is a VAST improvement from Blessed Are the Persecuted. I really didn't dig Blessed.. and I was torn on buying this one.I am happy to say that this one is a keeper.
