Many of Passion's followers are well acquainted with the motivation behind their music--but as a newcomer to their music and mission, I was very interested to find out what makes them tick. I was excited by what I found. During the past two years Passion Conferences have gathered college students from around the nation in a spirit of unity for the purpose of seeking God. This year Passion has followed God's leading in creating an opportunity for a solemn assembly of Christian college students to gather at Shelby Farms in Memphis, Tennessee in mid-May. They call the gathering "OneDay" (for details see their website at: [www.oneday2000.org](https://www.oneday2000.org)). The CD liner notes explain, "OneDay is not a festival…it is a time for this generation to answer God's call and seek His face. This CD is for everyone around the world who is walking with us to OneDay…not an event, but to a way of life."

This CD has a refreshing variety of sounds as well as old and new praise songs. Those of you familiar with Delirious will find a couple of songs sounding very familiar. Although repetition is somewhat inherent in this kind of music, Passion manages to avoid this problem. The artistry and instrumentation that Passion puts together bring new life to the text. A powerful addition to this CD is a spoken prayer between each track. I liked this because it put the music into a context of glorifying God and not just a sing-a-long. Another glorious surprise was a track called 'Prelude.' It is a string quartet composition that plays off the melody of the hymn 'Holy, Holy, Holy.' Then it changes to a minor key creating a beautiful contrast. Talk about powerful! Sometimes words simply cannot convey what we want to express in worship.

As a music student, I recognize when the music does not comply with what the text is trying to convey. There is none of that here. The cries for God to break our hearts sound like a cry. 'Holy Roar' actually sounds like a gathering of Christian saints. I find this concept essential to praise music and it enhances the authenticity of our worship.

Don't think that the music is done with the last track on the CD. There is a hidden track that is worth the wait.

I highly recommend this CD to anyone that is looking for a quality praise and worship experience through music. Be encouraged by the music as you journey on the road to your OneDay. As the CD cover says: "Sing the songs. Pray the prayers. Bring your life."
