Well here's a CD I ran across on eBay recently, dated 1998. The auction's details described it as Christian death metal/thrash similar to Mortification and Living Sacrifice. Well about the only thing that could have been farther from the truth would have been to say it was similar to the Newsboys.
Overall the music is mostly thrash, pretty fast and fairly good. The real problem comes in the vocals department. When track one of this 6 track 17 minute EP started up I thought I was listening to an old demo from the Crucified as the vocals had that pseudo-punk/thrash feel to them. Later along track 3 the vocals get deeper, reminding of early Betrayal sort of. There are some leads performed on this CD but every time one comes in it seems really out of place. They actually seem to disrupt the song rather than enhance it. The guitar distortion is very muddy and kind of grunge-esque; if it's what they were going for they nailed it. I'm not overly pleased with myself but it's not annoying.
Not a bad album by any stretch of the sense, and if you want some fast background music (cause there's nothing really to focus on with this one) and you can find it cheaply this may be something to consider. Just don't expect this CD to live in your player, rather it will make brief visits.
