When I first saw the album cover I thought to myself, "Dear God, not another ska band." I was so wrong. Never judge a book by its cover. I read the bio sheet and it basically said that they blend 70's rock with hardcore. Again, I gave into my pessimist side and didn't give them a chance because how could that ever work and sound good. Never judge a book by its cover. I was so wrong again. This band tears it up. If you take good 70's rock (Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC) and mix it with straight up street sense East Coast Hardcore (Slapshot, Blood For Blood, DYS) you would probably have something quite close to R'N'R. Great rock guitar riffs and the cohesiveness of band members on a mission take R'N'R to a new level of hardcore. The lyrics are pretty typical of a hardcore band but they fit nicely into this package and so do the vocal styles as well. This is just a good record. It's fun and it breathes a breath of fresh air for hardcore fans. For American Nightmare to DYS, For Dag Nasty to Count Me Out and back to Thin Lizzy. Check them out.
