The secretive, masked (International) Shockwave Collective, which is enigmatically related to xDISCIPLEx AD in some fashion or another, recently released Omega Supreme, an album that compiles the material from their Autohate LP, Dominicon EP, and Warpath 7", as well as two demo tracks and an unreleased track called "Bruticus." If you can't already tell, Shockwave is obsessed with Transformers, and they show their devotion in upbeat but brutal tuff-guy hardcore fashion. The songs are catchy (if not a little redundant -- but what do you expect?), the vocals are ferocious and livid, the beats are set on destroy, the guitars swirl, squeal, and crunch, and the band has a beyond-confident energy.
