Dude, Vikings rock. This swarthy band of Norwegians bring a considerable amount of technical skill to the table with their true blue rock n' roll. This is established early on with a handful of nifty drum/guitar thingys. Throughout this album, there is rarely a drop in intensity. All the makings of a tight live show can be found in this music. Here's the downside: although Silver puts up a musically strong set of songs with this release, their sound is rather dated. Their vocals have all the swagger and attitude of late seventies Brit-punk. Sid would approve. Johnny Rotten would smile (then, of course, he'd say something offensive and punch a camera man). But while this "swagger" may be considered to be a good thing by some, it is the opinion of this reviewer that the average Joe may start longing for an occasional melody, like I did. Here's the skinny: although pop-oriented listeners may find this album to be a little tough on the ear, Silver's musical skill is attractive in and of itself. Drummers will tap their legs, guitarists will grab their air-axe and jam out when the chicks aren't looking. I guess I've got to give these guys that whole "it depends on what you go for" treatment.

Decapolis 2000Reviewed by Tom BastianThe intro to the first song, "This is the Night", totally rocks. A little bit of glam guitar starts this one out right. But then the vocals kick in. I thought Johnny Rotten was singing for this band. Nothing original at all in the vocals. Maybe I'm just not a fan of Sex Pistols sounding vocals, and I suppose thats what kind of brought this one down for me. Definitely the best part of this release…Similar sounding releases
