Some Kind of Hate (whom one would readily assume named themselves after a Misfits song) plays fast and tightly executed hardcore that bears a slight resemblance to Boston neighbors Slapshot. Their main influences of bands like Rollins era Black Flag definitely seep through the fury though. Vocalist Matt Pike barks over the musical bed that his bandmates provide as they back him with loads of gang vocals and tough enthusiasm.
'Watch Them Fall' decries those who were johnny come latelies to a scene that they would eventually leave when its hype and popularity passed while 'Dog Tag' calls out bands that write their music for the sake of popularity which only results in staleness. Some Kind of Hate's music certainly isn't stale and it's certainly not weak in its message either.
