Having reviewed a lot of indies lately, I certainly don't envy A&R people their job. Every once in awhile, however...you get one of those hidden treasures. It's even nicer when they are in your own backyard, as I first heard this band at Heart and Soul, opening for This Train and Seven Day Jesus. I liked them better than Seven Day Jesus, so I forked over my $10 and got, in return, one very reviewable indie. The production is of the highest quality, showcasing bass riffs that give them a real classic feel alongside some modern rock overtones.
There's just a lot of good rock grooves on this comfortable but interesting album. They remind me a lot of Three Crosses or the first Third Day release, with vocals somewhat reminiscent of Mac Powell. The second song, "Equalibriam," is very radio friendly. The CCM market could do much worse than sign this band.
