Amidst all the pop-punk, something like The Roosevelts had to come along and force me to admit I'm bobbing my head while listening. And maybe they'll get compared on some level to MxPx, like every other band in the genre, but if everyone's getting compared to MxPx, then it doesn't matter all that much really. This is one of those bands people noticed right away, winning a battle of the bands just six months into their career, and releasing their first record (Friday Nights) on nationally distributed Reborn Records. There's a reason people noticed. Catchy guitar parts, a solid rhythm section, solid vocals, and intelligent lyrics (a factor that alone sets them apart from most pop-punk). The new self-titled release was produced by Cliffy Huntington, which can't hurt things in their search for a label home. Contact: 615.893.0107 or [email protected].
