The Star Spangles are the latest in a long line of major label acts to blend punk and gritty rock and roll. With "Bazooka," they do not set themselves apart from the pack in ways that bands like The Strokes and the White Stripes have managed to do, but they have nevertheless made a respectable album. For its raw production and simplistic song structures, the Star Spangles have given us an enjoyable listen. Nothing here is going to blow anyone away, but there's no harm in it either and it is a notch above the rest.
