This band of strong rockers was on last issue's Hard Music Sampler CD. Their striking cover image evoked a strange response from one of our readers. To this response, we reply: "No, the band isn't endorsing crystal ball fortune telling with its album cover. Can you say 'parody?'" While obviously serious musicians, they seem to have fun with their groove-oriented low-end, and they know how to layer and harmonize their vocals well. The 12 songs on Thick show off their range of influences without much to hide. You can hear the simple and laid back hard modern rock of Creed, as well as the funky groove and harmonies of King's X. Me thinks they did a real successful job putting their best foot forward on this album. Good sounds, good songs, good artwork. Worth a look from our modern hard rockers.
