Being a longtime Whitecross fan it would be hard not to like anything from Scott Wenzell and they boys. However, the band has gone through several changes. Quinton Gibson now does guitar, Troy Stone is the current drummer, and Brent Benny plays bass. Though the band has changed Scott is still there and is not likely to change. Throw in David Zaffiro as producer and you have a sure thing. "Get Real" starts off in typical Whitecross style. Wenzell's raspy voice is as strong as ever. Gibson's guitar work is reminiscent of Whitecross' previous work--"High Gear", "Attention Please", and "Rubberneck" are songs that come to mind. "Amazing Love" is an awesome tune where Wenzell drops his voice an octave. A nice touch. But the killer on this song is the guitar work with the talk box (brings back memories of Peter Frampton). "Refuse to Lose" is another typical Whitecross song as is "When He Comes". "Already Done", "Eye To Eye", and "To My Surprise" are slower but the guitar work and large vocals are clearly Whitecross. "End Of The Line" gets my vote as best ballad and "Say A Prayer" is a smooth song with great drum licks. As with all Whitecross songs the lyrics are biblical and to the point. All in all this CD is a terrific effort, probably my second favorite (Unveiled being the best). On a scale of 1 to 5 I give Flytrap a 4.
