Great Melodies, intricate guitar work, originality and intelligent, coherent lyrics - these are just a few things I look for when judging a good album. All is all of that. I just like the stuff that Karl Alvarez and Bill Stevenson think up. They are creative, honest musicians with free speech and social justices in mind. They say what they want but not like a thug, because they make valid, meaningful points in most all they write. That is good in my book. Also, in case you didn't know, these guys are in the legendary punk band The Descendents, less the lead singer.
Musically, this album is very good. Who ever heard of the words creative, original, and punk in the same sentence? Well these are three words that I use to describe All. The vocal melodies follow the guitar melodies to a "T" and it is just down right catchy. My suggestion is this: just buy it (unless you are saving your money for the Britney Spears summer tour). These guys are the 80's and 90's version of The Ramones. They are indie rock/punk icons. Trust me.
