Guitar shredder and "wah-yahhh!" vocalist, Matt Harding, is back with another Apostle album, called Prepare To Meet God. As its title suggests, it's power metal that flexes its muscle in your face. My first piece of advice would be to "prepare to meet 80's metal," as Apostle seems to have chosen not to deviate from its formula of melodic roaring amidst rapid-fire riffing. As far as the fusion of gothic and commercial heavy metal goes, this band does it very well. Some of Matt's screaming leads are blazing. Songwriting-wise, though, Matt puts together pieces that make sense. One of the best moments comes in the melodic "Beatitudes." There's some real melodic moments in the song "In The New Love," with its really commercial vocal hook in the chorus. I never knew they had it in them. They ought to explore this more.
