Here's some cool Axl Rose-ish acoustic ballads with plenty of grit and passion. Ahh, those two important elements -- grit and passion. It makes the lyrics and the music come alive. The acoustic guitar and mandolin-sounding strumming gives some of these tunes a cool Zeppelin-esque feel. It's not all acoustic by any means. The title track, for instance, cops kind of an Eagles feel, and the riff on the tune "Rain" is anything but laid back. Glenn's voice is the strength here that all the songs capitalize on. His passion in "Reign On Me" evokes a cool worshipful vibe with its prayer of "send me down some of your love."
