Combining the progressive and artistic elements of bands like Dream Theater with the power and majesty of older Queensryche, Balance Of Power has created what I consider the best recording I have heard in many years. The music is stylish and technical while remaining accessible to the average listener, a combination rarely achieved by today's artists. The vocals are of the Geoff Tate style, pristine and full of power. Lance King performs this style far better than most vocalists in this genre. Sometimes I seem to hear a bit of Fates Warning influence also (especially in the timing and structure), so if you are a fan of any of the aforementioned bands you will absolutely love BoP. The production is flawless and the sonics are incredible! Get this cd today!

HM Magazine #81Reviewed by Doug Van PeltLovers of melodic metal will thrill over this band's indie release - Ten More Tales. I'm reminded of the melodic vocals of Dream Theater's James LaBrie and the tasteful progressiveness of Queensryche. What's super about this band is that they can compete on this level. Lyrically, the band avoids any upfront references to Jesus, but uses much imagery that makes sense. The sound is slick and…The Phantom Tollbooth 2000Reviewed by Shari LloydWhen I dropped Ten More Tales in and heard the great opening, I immediately fell in love with this band. I feared it was going to be ruined by a lousy singer. Thankfully, I was wrong. Lance King's vocals are perfect for the music. These releases bring back many memories of the best prog rock past (Yes immediately come to mind) but with a new modern sound. Fans of Dream Theater and Queensryche…The Phantom Tollbooth 2000Reviewed by Sam HagedornRiffs rock, vocals screech, harmonies do, drums drive and the production is top notch as Balance of Power races you through Book of Secrets, a concept album based on The Bible Code book by Michael Drosnin. This is the way rock music is supposed to be performed. Pulsating, searing, lifting up, tearing down and hitting home with a positive message. The second release by the current line up of…
