Catch 22 earns bonus points for playing ska long after scenesters had written it off as a dead genre. They get even more credit for pulling it off. Of course, Catch 22's variety of ska is more like the punk-with-horns of ska's 3rd wave than that of the Laurel Aitken et al inspired bluebeat, but there are no corny ska clichés (like someone saying "pick it up" or "hup-hup" or anything else) and the horns go well with the rest of the music. "Dinosaur Sounds" is the type of album someone might listen to while jogging. It is nothing earth shattering, but it is enjoyable. It is a solid record and it is worth listening to.
