I really really like this cd...well most of it. There are parts however, that are just way too slow. Most of the songs start off at a good pace, then have a cool breakdown and go slow. But they never get back up to speed until the next song. At certain places you have 2-3 minutes of things so slow you can't even get a decent headbang going. But what makes this review a 7 and not a 5 is the vocals. They are AMAZING. Chris Parks sounds like he's giving no effort whatsoever, but is screaming as high pitched as anyone I have ever heard. But it's not a crazy black metal scream. It's like he's growling, but a high pitched growl. It's really throaty and sounds like he's coughing up blood. It's great! The periodic guitar solos are pretty cool as well, but I wouldn't buy it just for them. Overall, it's not wasted money, but I wouldn't go out of your way to get it, unless you want to hear amazing vocals.

Decapolis 2000Reviewed by ConradHardcore/Metal. Uh-oh. If you don't like this genre, then read no further. This genre is really tricky because once you make the vocals unintelligible you're only left with musicianship and songwriting. So if you're not overly great at the latter - you're gonna suck. Fortunately their music is fairly creative and was never too simplistic. I kept thinking, "If Pantera went Hardcore, they might…Decapolis 2000Reviewed by Tom BastianIf you like Hardcore, Death Metal, screaming, groaning, groaling, or monsters, then you're gonna like this. This is what I believe would be referred to as Christ-Core, or Spirit-Lead Hardcore. Honestly I don't know much about this type of music. I just know it's not my thing. I know quite a few of our readers get a little upset when we don't give the Hardcore stuff good reviews, but what can I…Dead Zine 1999Reviewed by FletchLeaps and bounds ahead of their split with Set Apart. If you didn't like Chalice before, you owe them another listen. If you liked their split with Set Apart, you know what to do, order this cd! Chalice's sound has moved drastically into the field of metal. The vocals have improved tenfold. Live, Chalice's vocalist is downright impressive. Unfortunately, I think the vocals lose a little bit on…Dead Zine 1999Reviewed by D_ListerOk this CD is by far a serious step in the right direction when compared to the tracks we had on the Chalice/Set Apart CD, and yes the music just plain SOUNDS better from a better mix as well. Still there is something about this band's music that just puts me to sleep. Chalice is a Florida band so I've seen them play live several times, and I just don't know what it is about this band that bores…
