In recent months, the world has seen the Brazilian metal scene become larger than anywhere else in the world. A slew of cds have been released, many of which lack any shred of originality or creativity. Clamatorius again falls into such a stereotype, but all is not lost.

As the Christian (un)black scene has progressed, few have risen to the standards that are currently held for such an esteemed genre. Clamatorius had me believing this was going to end for the first minute of their cd. Beginning very melodically, the intro is a lone guitar which slowly builds and has very haunting tones. However, this is shattered when the crescendo is reached, and the song loses all credibility. Vocally, this band sounds like many other black metal acts, only without much of the talent.

Musically, one may argue that this is a band in the beginning stages. Unfortunately, I simply hear amazingly bad production and lose all interest. With each progressing track, one doesn't detect a plethora of variation. Each is built around much of the same chord structure, and there is little done vocally to inspire any sort of emotional quality. It is highly possible that this band could produce something of value in the future. However, as much of their countrymen have already proved, this is highly unlikely.
