Greetings in Christ, if you haven't heard this new band from Ohio yet, I suggest you send for this disc immediately. Having already seen this band live, I knew the songs on the CD when it was released, but man!, the studio effort is awesome. I'm not much of a hxc fan at all, but this album sits really well even with me.

The thing that really struck me right off the bat with these guys was their ability to go from shrill black vocals, to a soft, praising voice. My favorite track on this is definitely number two which is titled "When Sacred Tears Fall". The lyrics deal with the plight of guitarist Brendon as he was afflicted by asthma and had to breath on an inhaler his whole life. One day he totally gave the Lord his life, and has been cured ever since. This is apparent in the middle of the song when "heal me" is at first spoken, then shouted as a beckoning call to Christ. Twenty seconds later the band breaks into an all-out mosh riff that would make my ailing Grandmother get up and slam.

Track three is basically an instrumental track which carries the album name. Most of the song is slow and melodic, while sometimes being interrupted by soft appeals and praises to our Lord. The fifth and final track could almost be considered a hxc praise song. It begins with a slow guitar run accompanied by a violin. After two minutes of the same monotonous thing, I almost gave up, but then the guitars came in and left me headbanging for a solid minute. The whole song comes to its climax when all five band members chant, "My Jesus, My God, I Love You, I Praise You, My Life Is Yours. "

All that said, there are a couple drawbacks, but they're minuscule. One, The CD has only five songs running 22 minutes, and this left me craving more. Second, the bass line is not "cave your skull in" like new Zao and such, but definitely good. To order, go to ClenchedFist, or talk through AIM with yeshua216 or gadfly216.

Dead Zine 2003Reviewed by Hey YouThis EP is really good, but it just doesn't grab me like others have. I really like the opening of the first song with slow heavy pounding beats, but it doesn't change much throughout the cd. They tried too hard in being melodic and slow, but still brutal. They should have gone crazy more often to make the slow parts sound more efficient. But, the music isn't bad and it is really heavy. The…
