This CD is a must. I am a very hard critic, but it just happens to be my first review is on a truly mastered piece of work. I have few CD's that I give this rating to. I have distinguished at least 5 different singing styles and they MASTER both the low bone-crushing sludge style singing as well as the high pitched "angry, wounded, and very uncomfortable animal" style.Best part is they overdub the two together for the ultra-death sound. The two secular bands they remind me of most are Deicide and Suffocation mixed together. The thing that separates this band from many of the christian death bands is the fact that the singer doesn't try too hard which usually causes a lot to sound like Froggy from the little rascals which really turns me off. This is a very christ centered band lyrically with no question. There are 15 songs on this CD and all but one is hidden after the last track. The songs are 1.Beaten Beyond 2.Eternal life 3.Deepest Affliction 4.Dissection 5.Putrid condemnation 6.All Authority 7.Blood letting 8.My salvation 9.suffering 10.I ask 11. 2nd Timothy 12.grave of rebirth 13.Psallo 14.Loud and clear.........the 15th song being one of those ones that starts like 5 minutes after the last song is over.I'm not going to describe every song just general sound highpoints. Eternal Life-low grinding rhythms most of the song Deepest Affliction-less brutal singing style kinda like Malevolent Creation, but still very good (no one can bag on versatility)also this song has a few long breaks with just rhythms and no singing. Dissection-this is my 3rd fav song on this CD. It starts with extreme blast of chaos, trailed with nice tight riffs and low singing. Later going into some nice slow growls.THEN they downshift into the most trudging, dragged out,SLUDGE-death i've ever heard. When I first heard it I had to scan back about ten times cause it sounded so brutal and I still find myself frequently doing it!! Putrid Condemnation-very fast groove death style reminds me of Napalm Death All Authority-Gothic/industrial intro with a hint of keyboard breaking into a nice death tempo and finishing with some of the most grinding sludge i've heard. Blood letting-medieval guitar intro. Very raw sound reminds me of old school death. My salvation-my 2nd fav song very short :47 seconds long but that's ok cause I play it like 4 times in a row usually!sweet low and high overdub singing with tight powerful guitar I ask-This is my favorite song in death metal total Deicide style singing but the singer is lower in growls and higher in ripping out wild animal high pitch. If this was the only good song on the CD i'd still buy it! 2nd Timothy-Excellent song with about 4 different styles of singing complete with sweet rhythms and raunchy guttural blast mingled within. Psallo-so low at times, it reminds me of trudging through a swamp carrying a sandbag on each shoulder. Loud and Clear-Yes it's a stryper cover!! This is the only song I don't care for,but come on, most covers are not meant to jam just pay respect to influences.Although yes there is a FIDDLE yes a FIDDLE played in the song so I gotta give a thumbs up for versatility. Hidden Song about 5 minutes after last track-Very industrial jam with death and rap style singing. If these guys put this on the CD as a joke too bad cause my buddies and I think it jams.Complete with Fat Boys human beat box sound!!!

This album is a 10+ guaranteed to scare the stains off most people's undies!! Also a must for Secular Death metal listeners to realize that God owns the most Brutal Death band on earth.

Dead Zine 1997Reviewed by NecRoSarXSo, can a death metal and grindcore fan not own a copy of Dissection and still be considered a serious fan? The answer is "no," by the way. I still find myself continually praising GOD for this release. This massively ranks up there with Scrolls of the Megilloth and Chords of the Grave in sheer brutality. The opener, "Beaten Beyond", hits with massive blast-beats and grinding guitars, then eases…
