Sorry NecRo, I've just got to rate this one a bit higher. Everything NecRo said about it is pretty much right on track with this CD, however the thing that is left out is a real stress of the musicianship. Sure he says 'typical Possession caliber' but what does that mean? It means bottom line the best Christian thrash you will find with the debateable exception of Believer. Possession has always had more edge than Believer as they walked the line of 'are we thrash or are we death metal.' With Scourge and Fire you get more of the same, superb technical thrash that gets extremely heavy at times. Nik's vocals continue in the high pitched shrieks only to seconds later (sometimes the same breath) go into deep throaty death growls like none other. It's only 3 songs, it's true but for Possession fans (like me) your life is incomplete with out this little gem. The image above is the actual size of the CD so your player has to be the tray type, front loading CD players (like car players) won't play this...actually I've heard they get stuck. If you've heard Eternally Haunt, the band's previous album you know what to expect, if you've not I do suggest finding a copy of Eternally Haunt first as it's a full length and easier to find. When you come to the stark realization that you need MORE Possession you'll begin your hunt for this CD. If you want to get a sample of this amazing band they've got ONE unreleased song called 'The Manifestation' up on MP3.COM so you can grab that check 'em out that way if you prefer.

    9.5/10

Critical Mass #2Reviewed by Tom EdmondsonSpeaking of authentic bands, next to Horde Possession has written the book on authentic. You know this is true when Thomas Pascual, an authority on black metal bands, speaks well of them (see ad). But I'm sure there are some Christian metal fans out there who still find Possession a little hard to take. I doubt this bothers Possession. It appears to me that they are aiming their message to those…Dead Zine 1997Reviewed by NecRoSarXFrom what I understand, this is the last actual recording of the band before calling it quits. Pity. Pretty good thrash metal. I should note that Scourge and Fire isn't the official name of the recording; it's the first song on the disc, and I've heard others refer to the mini-CD as such, so I do so now. I say "mini-CD" because that's what it is- a CD that's roughly half the size of a regular CD.…
