WOAH this CD is heavy! Having visited the Disinterment Homepage many times, I've been waiting for this CD to come out for awhile now. They've put a lot of hard work into this CD and the effort shows. There is no denying that this band is a thrash band, and they pull it off quite well.
Good sounding thrash guitars are provided by David and Brad. David also provides the vocals that are harshly sung, and very clear. No they are not growled or screamed, but rather sung with some edge. You know, thrash like vocals.
With all the groove metal bands coming out it was kind of nice to hear some straight ahead thrash guitars that tend to go off a bit. Matt on the bass even breaks out into some riffs that are not there just to build the low end.
Drummer Mark is certainly not afraid to lay into that bass drum, which I love to hear. He doesn't really have that much dynamic playing, but by looking at the pic it appears he even has two floor toms. Is that a big old 18" I see there? I would have liked to have heard a little more from him.
This self produced CD is of really good quality. The sound of it is very well done. The vocals may have been mixed a little too loud, and the drums a little too low but it's not very far off so it's not annoying.
The layout is nice, I dig the color pics of them inside (no they are not hardcore, with b/w pics everywhere.)
The lyrics can be summed up with the "Parental Advisory: Holy Lyrics" that is on the front of the CD. 4 of the 6 tracks have scripture at the end of them for ease of reference.
Overall these six songs are a good listen. Nothing really exceptional that blows you away, but some good thrashy music to fit that need we all have.
7.5/10
