Passion. That pretty much sums up what Featherweight is all about. It's in the vocals, it's in the BGVs, it's in the guitars, drums, and everything; shoot you almost wanna cry it's just . . . there. The packaging and the sound of their 5-song EP screams professionalism (which is nice, because most less-established indie band CDs are often ultra-cheesy). These four guys are difficult to pin a label on, but if you were to take Pedro the Lion, Juliana Theory, and Plankeye (Relocation, of course), and put them in a blender, then you would have something like Featherweight when all was said and done. It's not all 'super-happy' fluff, but it's not all 'I just got dumped by a girl so life sucks' crap either . . . in fact none of it is. The songs are written from a fairly subjective angle, so you can get the gist of the subject matter, but it could be applied to several situations. Look for these guys on a soon-to-be-released sampler from One Moment Records, with bands like Sick of Change, Youth in Submission, and the Sunny Test.
