This is doom metal at its finest! Dark crushing guitar chords melded with symphonic keyboards give this disc a real feeling of power, which I find lacking in a lot of modern doom music. Musically this is comparable to Paramaecium, Morgion, and Visionaire only Morphia has a bit more of a "progressive" feel similar to that of older Amorphis. The vocals alternate between death vox and clear harmonies and even some spoken word with a heavy european accent. At times the clear vocals sound very much like James Allin from Visionaire. Lyrically the songs are full of sadness and sorrow. This is beautiful and poetic with an ever present theme of wanting to know beyond this life. I highly recommend this for all fans of doom!!!
