There was a time in the hardcore community when European hardcore wasn't really taken all that seriously. Maybe not that they weren't taken seriously, it's just that it wasn't all that good. It's a new age. European hardcore bands have taken leaps and bounds to take over not only Europe but also the USA. This is all do in part to the development of technology and the resurgence of hardcore in the USA. Also bands from the USA seem to be doing more touring outside the states and have inspired new kids to start their own bands.
No Turning Back is one of those bands. They started out in 1997 and wanted to play the music that their New York City hardcore idols did in the late eighties. Since then, they have polished their sound but kept their love for NYC hardcore at the base of their music. They have solid song structure and keep the hardcore strictly hardcore. There are no frills and metal riffs or pop routines thrown in here. This is for fans of Youth Of Today, Judge and The Cro-Mags. Rise From The Ashes features six original songs and two reissued and re-mastered songs from a recording from 2002. There is also a cover song from Breakdown. Pretty solid stuff. Not amazing and won't shake any ground but still solid.
