Having already had experience being a part of the renowned Christian hip-hop group, The Cross Movement, creativity is a given for Phanatik. His solo debut, The Incredible Walk (a clever play on the cartoon The Incredible Hulk) lets loose a delivery deserving of the title -- incredible.
This album is different from typical hip-hop records because it doesn't rely on catchy hooks but actually emphasizes lyrics. The words are creative and intelligent, ranging from personal and serious to light and humorous. While the tracks aren't exactly sing-alongs, they are thought-provoking and inspirational. From his witty "Psych Check" and "The Amazing Grace" (a play off on the show The Amazing Race) to "Grieved Again" and "Hope in the Streetz," Phanatik takes his listeners through the exciting and often challenging journey of being a Christian.
By using creative metaphors and other devices with a conversational tone, Phanatik proves himself to be a master of words with the ability to produce a successful solo album and set a name for himself apart from The Cross Movement.
