Another Snapcase album already? Well, actually "Bright Flashes" is a hodgepodge of material recorded circa "End Transmission," their fantastic album from last year. There are 6 songs originally slated to be included on "End Transmission" but lack of space made this release needed. There are 3 remixes of songs from "E.T." that have been redone with much more programming and a handful of covers including "Freedom of Choice" (Devo) and "Blacktop" (Helmet). "Bright Flashes" stylistically sounds similar to their last release and if you follow Snapcase, you know they have their own classic hardcore sound. Very well recorded and always pleasing, "Bright Flashes" is a sweet surprise.
