If it weren't for the fact that I'm using When the Love is Right in my wedding soon, I probably would have graded this album a 5 or 6. This is just simply too short... not bad, by any means... different... yes. But not bad. There are a whole 5 songs on this... including one remake of Fleetwood Mac's "oh well"

Lyrics are very well-done and meaningful. The only exception I'll give you... is the very, very, very annoyingly confusing remake of "my promise", even on the original it was confusing... for instance,

Just a boy, you will not remember
half the things you're going through right now
how can I explain to you
things don't always go the way you want them to
    I know you feel confused
your mother never wanted this for you
she did her best but that he wouldn't do
you and I are brought together now by wedding vows
vows that I have also made to you
flesh and blood though we are not I will love you as my own
now God's love is all we got together we can build a home

if that's not confusing enough it goes on... ∗sigh∗ many a time has this song been attempted to be analyzed to no avail... oh well. (no pun intended)

Overall, this album is not contemporary... but very classically influenced. a great extension of musical taste in Tourniquet's sound... that is tainted by length and my promise.

    7/10

The Lighthouse July 1995Reviewed by Erik SellinAs their previous album, Vanishing Lessons, was in many ways a dramatic change in musical style for Tourniquet, Carry The Wounded is in many ways a continuing progression. The group strays further from their heavy history, but develops overall as a solid band in hard Christian music. The 5-song EP begins with the title cut, which is musically along the lines of "Your Take" on Vanishing Lessons.…Heaven's Metal #52Reviewed by Doug Van PeltThe men of high metal musical standards are back. Besides giving us something to feast on until another full-length album, this 5-song EP shows a further development the band has undergone since adding Luke Easter to the line-up. The title track is a great tune that starts off the album with the band shaking loose in a new textured sound that is full and brilliant. The added percussion and guitar…
