Your money's worth...that's what you are certainly going to get with this the first release of NSH Records. Formerly NSH Distro, NSH is now fully stepped up to a record label, and No Greater Love Vol. 1 is a CD with 24 tracks by 24 different bands ranging from hardcore/metalcore to punk to emo.

Getting to the bones of this review it's a comp put together by a brand new label so they were taking contributions by the bands. What this means is the quality of recordings varies...greatly from track to track. As this is the case with MANY of these kinds of comps (you own comps, you know what I'm talking about) I feel it's necessary to comment that some of the tracks are of the best production you'll hear on a comp like this. Take the Redeem track, it comes right off their incredible Sofa Records full length album (if you've not heard Redeem GET THIS COMP and you will certainly find yourself buying their full length) Edify on the other hand doesn't have an album that I'm aware of and is lower quality but still an awesome track that sounds good.

Stand out tracks for me on this CD are Redeem, Crutch, Evergreen Terrace, and Beauty to Ashes. There is a lot of material on this CD, clocking in at 73 minutes, and with a wide range of styles there are certainly going to be a few tracks that you don't like. However with this much music being offered and the price tag being only $8.00 (THAT INCLUDES SHIPPING PEOPLE) this is a CD that everyone should have in their hands before too much longer. Besides if you only like HALF the CD that's still 12 tracks for 8 bucks...again you got your money's worth.

A little hit and miss.Bandoppler 2000Reviewed by Earl CampbellThe care and creativity shown in the beautiful cover design alone make this an ambitious compilation project worthy of note. Wonderful post-modern gothic imagery sets a mood that is immediately reinforced by cryptic bagpipes fronting the opening track, "Ballad of Remembrance," by Redeem. The song itself perpetuates the theme of this compilation, and offers a heartfelt spoken word mixed with…
