Christian metal is finally catching up with the world. Bloodgood did it last year, and this year we have two video releases to sink our teeth into. One is the "Metal Mission," the other is "Hot Metal 4 - The Video." Frontline really went all out with this video collection. All the videos, minus Tourniquet, were shot on film, and could easily get airplay on MTV (Everyone start dialing). Ken Tamplin begins and ends this video with two songs, his more recent song, "Livin' For My Lord", and a shot of his past with the Shout tune, "Give Me An Answer". Never being a really big fan of his music, I must say I was impressed with "Livin' For My Lord". Shot inside a building and on a rooftop, it shows a much grittier Tamplin. I wasn't impressed with "Give Me An Answer". It was filmed on a stage and everything was too perfect. I would've been afraid to light a match near Ken or Chuck King's hair, with as much hairspray as it looked like they had on. They really looked too much like a glam band. "Cover Me" by Angelica is next. Filmed in various places, like a semi-dark room, a front porch, and on the beach, it looks like they had lots of fun doing it. Deliverance is next with "Weapons Of Our Warfare". Fantastic! With stacks of amps all over the place and war footage all through it, this video demands to be played on MTV's "Headbanger's Ball." "Lasting Love" by Ransom is next, and is my favorite. It's filmed outside at night, with fire and lights all around them. I had to rewind and watch this one over and over again. Next is Tourniquet's "Ark Of Suffering" and Vengeance Rising, with "Before The Time". Very fast and wild, "Ark..." has footage of animals being killed or hurt, while "Before The Time" is filmed in a church with occultic paraphernalia all over the place. After each song, the bands speak a little about what's on their hearts. This is a fantastic video, and a must have for every headbanger.

    Other coverage for this album

Dead Zine 2002Reviewed by NecRoSarXThe fourth in the Hot Metal series put out by Intense Records is, obviously by the subtitle, a video comp. Although a good concept for the series, there's about only three videos of interest here for the heavy headbanger: Deliverance's "Weapons Of Our Warfare" (a video that's been shown on MTV's Headbangers Ball and mentioned by Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich as one of his favorite metal videos),…
