It's hard to review a compilation album that is based on region and not in record company or musical style. It's even harder to review that region if it is all the way across the country and one that I really have never been into or involved with. This is an obscure album to me that is full with nothing but bands from San Diego, California. I would have to say that there are more upsides to this album than down sides. I was able to observe a scene that was Greek to me, except for No Knife, I hadn't heard any of these bands before this album. Fifty percent of the profits of this album are going to the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA, so that is pretty rad and a definite upside.
This album is more on the experimental/art rock side. There is some straight up rock n roll sounding bands such as Hot Like (A) Robot and Sin Sin 77 but for the most part it sticks to the path of obscurity and experimental rock. It was a good experience.
