Well I really don't have too much to say about Victory in Christ, which is a compilation of hardcore, punk, emo, and death music. It was ok. Some of the songs were solid, but most of the bands were just pitiful. The upside was tunes by bands like Fasedown, P.O.D., Onceblind, Figure Four, and Point of Recognition. The downside was bands like Ancient of Days, Headnoise and Twothirtyeight. It is hard to review a compilation because of wide variety, I mean come on I could type for hours. I will say that this is a good compilation. I hated most of it but the key here is opinion.
Let's start with the punk, you have your Scratchline and Headnoise, but the punk on this comp is lame. The hardcore on this is really good, and yet really bad. Note that not all of these bands are from Rescue Records. The good core like P.O.D. is great but there is some stuff from bands like Redeem and Bereaved that made me cringe in disgust. Because of such diversity it is hard to prefer this disk so I say before purchasing this disk try to borrow it from a friend if they have it or sample it at a local Christian bookstore. If all else fails don't buy it. It isn't that great.

HM Magazine #89Reviewed by Earl CampbellFasedown kick off this hardcore punk (& some emo) compilation (saved from sampler status by the inclusion of non-Rescue related bands) proper, pummeling down a (figurative) door with "Abolished." Headnoise is next with "Heads Like Humans," doing what they do with sass and frass. Onceblind do a ZAO intro to "Loyalty," and then transition into a pounding cymbal-fest. 238 mellow things out for a…
Dead Zine 2001Reviewed by D_Lister3:16 Records is a division of Rescue Records, combined they are some of my favorite producers of music on the market at the moment. I really do have great appreciation for most all of their bands. Victory in Christ is the next compilation being offered, this one focusing on 3:16 Records artists. The problem here is most of the songs are already released on the bands' current albums. Granted you…
