I never really know exactly how to review this kind of music. What I definitely know is that I dig this older Zao stuff more, or actually just the older Zao singer. Musically the newer Zao stuff is better. Like their other re-release this is a definite purchase for any Zao fans. You must be happy that Steadfast Records is putting out this older Zao stuff. As far as Outcast goes I think they pretty much broke up shortly after this split originally came out. So unfortunately even if you do like them you won't be able to see them. It's pretty much your typical hardcore of 5 years ago. So if you are a hardcore fan you will probably like it, if you're not a fan then you probably won't. Nothing really made them stand apart from the other hardcore bands of 5 years ago. But even listening to these early Zao recordings, you could tell they had something going on.
