This Brazilian death metal band takes you back to the roots of modern death metal and even included some tracks taking you all the way back to original death metal in its true punky form. The first thing to note in this album is the way the music is mixed... don't worry, that emotional and dark intro won't last long and you can get to your mediocre death metal in a moment. All right, the first actual song starts off with some of the worst crust death I've heard... and moves into the actual song ... while it's intentional... it's likely to turn many people off just by the first guitar riff being crusty and not crunchy. If you get past that first poor mixing job you're greeted with some fairly decent early 90's death metal. The first thing I began to notice was that the drums sounded heavy in parts only due to the fact that the toms were recorded to sound like the double bass and very little double bass was actually being played. There is a female drummer here but this is a day and age of "equal opportunity" so I'm not gonna give her props just for being female. sorry. She's ok, but that's about it. She can pull off some nice drum rolls and she's much better than a garage band death metal drummers but she can't keep up a blast beat and gets off time, she can't do double bass very long and she loves tom fills. In my opinion, she'd make a better metal core or hardcore drummer than a death metal drummer.

The general point of this album is to give the death metal crowd something they enjoy, and this album delivers that in full. As a few contacts I know said, "A full 27 tracks of death metal fury!" But I'm not gonna lie and leave it at that. Why? because it's not. For instance: songs 4 and 10 (usuario and massacre respectively) have the exact same intro with a couple alterations. I'm sure anyone who has been involved with music and written music has messed around with altering riffs to see if they sound better one way or another... well, here we have a variation of another riff... making up two songs. That is either condemnable or doesn't matter to you... but to me it's kind of a cheap way of putting out another track. The other problem I have with the above statement... first of all, the vocals are not fury-ridden... and they are kinda stupid sounding too... but that's not the point... the second thing is that the album is just a little over or under mediocre...I can't tell which. There are points that are cool... and points that just suck. If you can listen to 27 tracks of mediocre death metal with bad mixing and standard death metal musicianship... then be my guest and buy this album. But overall, unless you are fascinated with death metal or have a lot of money and just want to fill up more space in your cd collection (it's almost guaranteed that this album won't stay in the cd player for very long) then I would suggest something else.

Oh yeah, the lyrics are in spanish on the album...so you can't read along... but the english translations are there so you can know at least what they think they are trying to say... it seems to be... "bad satan", "bad drugs" and "bad alcohol". They may be much better in spanish than english translation. But since I don't know spanish, they are just half way ok death metal lyrics bashing satan drugs and alcoholism. Anyway, the album is an ok death metal album... but when you consider the vast leagues of really bad death metal... that's not saying much.

HM Magazine #83Reviewed by Doug Van PeltI wonder how these guys feel about demons? Hmmm... This tight Brazilian trio slams out an incredible 27 songs here! The band blasts away at hyper-sonic speeds, rivaling some of the better black metal I've heard, but the vocals take a definite low-end grindy/deathy growl. Lyrically, they take a strong stance, calling forth blessings from God, and offering warfare prayers to bind the enemy. This is…Dead Zine 1999Reviewed by D_ListerNow just because everyone (including the band) has been calling this band a death/grind act, don't go expecting the typical grindcore sound here. Yes at times they have a raw punkish/death feel to the music, but when they do come into what I would guess people are labeling the grind songs the intensity level is not quite right. I'm sure people feel the need to attach 'grind' to it also because…Dead Zine 1999Reviewed by GrindboyThe first two things I noticed about this cd are that all the lyrics are in Portuguese and they have a female drummer. First the lyrics. Not since Horde have I heard an album this focused on evil being bad. As the band name and album title go (I'm assuming Demonocido translates roughly into "killing demons" or some such), so goes the entire album. Antidemon massacres Satan, hate, and violence,…
