Man, do I love this band. Their last full-length is one of my favorite CDs of all time, and the Alkaline Trio sure does not disappoint on this EP, other than the fact that this CD is not a full-length. What this is, is a limited edition 4-song EP; only 3,000 CDs and 1,000 12" records were pressed. So what you need to do is go out and get a copy of this before it's sold out.

In case you're not familiar with the band, they are a "punk rock power trio" from Chicago. But they don't play your typical CA-style new-school punk rock. Actually, when I first heard the band, I thought they would fit better into the whole emo punk genre. They have one full-length and two EPs out on Asian Man Records. They also use two different singers, which I see as a plus. I believe the band is made up of members who used to be in the bands Tuesday and Slapstick. The one vocalist sounds a little bit like someone singing with a lisp, lots of emotion, really cool. The other vocalist has a little bit more of a sung punk vocal. Both vocalists are great.

All four songs are great. I don't think I could pick a favorite. The names of the songs are "Good-bye Forever," "This Is Getting Over You," "Bleeder," and "I Lied My Face Off," which is the title track. Look for even bigger things to come from this band in the future. I can't express to you how much I think this band rules. You definitely need to check them out for yourself.
