In Austin you can club hop for hours, hearing a wide variety of styles. But if you passed a pub bleeding the live infectious songs from Fetal Position, you'd do well to stop and listen. With words that wrap around your head as tight as any pop-rock hook, the voice behind Vigilantes of Love has got it all here on his poignant and personal solo album. That rare ability to craft a common emotion, like the fumbling love described in "Crescent Moon," or a childhood memory like "Fran Tarkenton" (in "Summer In Your Veins") and marrying it to sweet melodies like these, and you might have a timeless rock classic on your hands.
