I've not been a big Crashdog fan & this 4th still doesn't reel me in. However, in some way or another, as should be expected, each album has improved upon the one before it somewhat. I have to say I like Andrew's vox a little better than Spike Nard's. The recording itself is cleaner this time, yet again, that is besides the guitars & bass, which seem a bit too smooth or muddy. That, & the simplicity of the songs (my problem with most punk / HC) renders this disc not too exciting. There are a few interesting moments: a few samples before songs, chord changes (gasp) in "Option" & splattered chords in "Hateedge", the bag pipes & cello courtesy of celtic labelmates The Crossing on "Sept. 1994", The Clergy guests on their own song "The Eve Of Destruction", & I appreciate the lyrics to "Intolerance". However these things don't make up for the overall drabness that has plagued Crashdog since its first bark. Now, on the controversial song "G.O.P. (God's Own Party)", I agree Republican & Christian are not necessarily synonymous terms, however you're mistaken in thinking the Democrat's socialist ideals are what this lazy, greedy country needs. We need less government programs & more Christians acting out their faith. And we don't necessarily need a third party as suggested in "A Tale Of Two Parties". Crashdog isn't the worst band out there, & if it's any consolation, I've heard many young Green Day / Rancid fans say "Crashdog is cool!" So, hey, what do I know?
