Eustace is a three-piece band from Kentucky. Their only release to date on Vindicated Records is entitled "The Intinction Method."
Eustace's sound is somewhere between grunge and emo. In terms of grunge, the vocals have a Goo Goo Dolls feel to them. In terms of emo, the guitars are extremely octave-happy, which at times also draws a little Jimmy Eat World comparison, but Eustace is nowhere near quite as good.
"The Intinction Method" is just awful from the cover art to the studio production or lack thereof. Yet, the band and the vocalist seem to have talent, but the production and the songwriting are the biggest problems. The production makes the record obnoxious to listen to because of the lo-fi quality of the instruments. The songwriting is an issue because of the lack of memorable hooks on the album, except for "World Seems Waste," which has a catchy verse that borders on punk rock.
On the bright side, from "The Intinction Method" there's only one way for Eustace to go and that's up. Honestly, the album wouldn't be any worse if it was called "The Extinction Method." Enough said.
