The Reaction was formed by x-members of The Deadlines, Huntingtons, Last Laugh, and Moloko. Upon completion of their album with Acme Records, the band lost most of its members, regained new ones and renamed themselves "The Stivs."

With the infamous Cliff Powell on guitars, The Reaction (to be known forthwith as The Stivs) have released their debut with Acme Records. With the many other bands these members have been in, it's surprising that this album is so rough and comes across as high-school amateur garage rock. The recording and production are rough, the vocals poor, and the songs boring. Along with these faults, an off tempo drum lurks in the background trying to keep up. The Stivs have churned out a weak, drab, and forgetful first effort.
