Yeah!! We had been waiting a long time for it, this first RAGE OF ANGELS...!! Here it is at last, and we are far from disappointed, because these new white metallers really do have the Rage of Angels deep in the heart!! From the first chords of "Leave You Or Forsake You", RAGE OF ANGELS shows us its colours: good heavy, properly fun, properly melodic. Dan MARIANO's vocals are very good, with frequent screams that come off very well. The bass/drums side is led head-on by Dale GLIFORT and John FOWLER, who form a blistering pair ("It's Not Late For Love", "Hooked On A Good Thing",...) As for the guitars, RAGE OF ANGELS has two madmen: Greg KURTZMAN and Frank DICOSTANZO. Both of them are accomplished guitarists. The majority of the compositions are mid-tempo (except "Hooked On A Good Thing" and "It's Not Late For Love", which are faster) and RAGE OF ANGELS has opted for a properly blistering heavy, and one that is very solid musically. And from "Leave You Or Forsake You" through to "Don't Give Up", by way of "Somebody's Watching You", "Rock For The Rock" and "Are You Ready For Thunder", RAGE OF ANGELS offers a frankly raging energy...! But always with musical finesse. And if the album has no slow anywhere in its grooves, the inevitable single is there: it is called "Do You Still Believe In Love". The track is cooler than the album as a whole, but very rich musically (above all on the guitar/vocal side). Well played, guys: it really is the single you needed!! And then, on the lyrics side, it is lived experience, sincerity, truth.
In the final analysis, this first RAGE OF ANGELS hits very high and hard, and this band shows great professionalism and enormous potential (enraged!!). RAGE OF ANGELS is one of the greatest hopes of Christian metal. To be discovered urgently!! The Rage of Angels will enrage you without any problem!!
