After reading the promo sheet I realized this was recorded about 15min from my apartment in Salem, Mass. It was recorded by Kurt Ballou of Converge and, there's evidence of his work, such as the guitar tone which has a Converge feel to it. For a band claiming to have created "a fresh approach" to metal influenced hardcore, I expected more, but the album is not without its moments. There is some writing talent here, but it's not entirely shining through just yet. The bulk of Rope Tied to the Trigger is repetitive and without imagination. "From My Existence" takes the prize as my favorite stand out track.
