This 9-song tape, called Exodus, is a pleasant listen of melodic metal with a bite. (I bet they use Charlie Stringer's "Snarling Dogs" guitar strings!) Some of the vocals sound a bit dry and soulfelt -- kinda like an Alice in Chains tune (the title track being the best example). The guitars carry this band far into the listener's cranium. It's good to see such a healthy crop of custom releases reviewed in this issue. While having a slightly cleaner side than Tooth & Nail's best bands (who are probably Sometime Sunday & Wish For Eden), these guys are hip. Lyrically, Sercher (pronounced like searcher) bridge the gap between everyday life and eternal life, making no bones about Who the Author of Life is.
