this contains the long out of print sleeping dogs 7" (crass records), brainrust 12" (post-sleeping dogs with similar members, originally on vinyl communications), and several unreleased home recordings. the 7" is probably the most accessible material here, but even it is so laced in avant garde minimalism that most of you won't be interested in it. i happen to like their weird bass and drum-oriented songs, but i think i have more of an interest in arty experimentalism than most punk fans. the vocals have that monotone-zombie feel to them, and the songs are more based on rhythms than chords or melodies. agit-prop-doomsday-art-punk, i suppose. neat.
