Well the first thing that stood out to me with this release, is that I could not understand a single word they were singing. I think they were singing in Japanese, yet the song titles were in English. But with that put aside, this was still a great record. Even though I could not understand the lyrics, the melodies made up for everything and the songs still turned out sounding really great. If you like the Donna's, or any other all girl pop punk/rock bands, then you have to check out Softball. I would say they are more punk and less rock if you compare them to the Donna's. I haven't heard of them until this release, so I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised. The music wasn't extremely complex, but then again that is not what they are trying to do. What they are trying to do is write fun, poppy punk songs, with great melodies, smooth harmonies, and a very upbeat feel. That is what Softball does and they do it good. Once again Mike Park, great job on finding another great band for us to all have fun with.
