What can I say? I'm a sucker for catchy melodies, and this band has some of the catchiest stuff around. They also have the whole Japanese high school punk girl thing going. Here is the best description of their music I can think of: If Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts had a punk rock band - it would sound like Softball. Cute, aggressive and poppy. The songs range from new school to old school. But don't ever compare them to the boring music and singing of the Donna's. All the singing here is forceful with TONS of harmonies - I was already hooked because of that. The only bad things I can say is the music is not all that tight, and the old school stuff isn't as good as the new school stuff. But there are some albums where the good overwhelms the bad, and this is one of those albums. I also have to admit I love everything Japanese - from Dragonball Z to their HDTV's to their cyber-pets to their talking toilets. I love my layovers in Japanese Airports so I can look at all their cool stuff - even if I can't understand one word while I'm there - much like this album.
