The Juliana Theory wowed me once again with their latest release Music From Another Room EP. I absolutely adore this band, and this record just added to my adoration.
The album starts out with a 6 minute track entitled "This is The End of Your Life," which has more of a modern rock sound to it. It starts out soft and then proceeds to get louder as it goes along. The next song is "Moments." It's more of a meaningful, softer rock song and brings out more of their "emo" sound. It actually blends into the next track "In A Fraction."
"Liability" is next in line. It starts off with a funky, disco-like beat. The lyrics, "You can tell us we wouldn't understand and you can hide behind your practice grid/But we know you're lying through your teeth," show that the song is about blame, lying, and, as the title says, liability. The next song "Breathing by Wires," is a bit more of a punk rock song. It's probably my favorite song on the CD. The last song is "Piano Song," which is more of a meaningful ballad. It makes a nice end to the EP.
The Juliana Theory definitely did a good job on this cd. Rock/emo and long time Juliana Theory fans will definitely enjoy this cd. I highly recommend trying it out.
