Wow this comp has a lot of bands. It's kind of a record label sampler, beings most of the bands are on Asian Man Records and most of the songs have already been released. Actually all of the Asian Man Records bands are represented I believe. This is kind of like a follow up to the first compilation called, Mail Order is Fun. The really cool thing about this CD is that you get 28 bands for only $3.99, Asian Man Records is so cool, and this is all to promote mailorder, they love mailorder. Most of their full lengths are only $8 via mailorder, with no shipping to pay. Another cool thing with this comp is that is has a neat bio in the liner notes about Asian Man Records, written by Mike "Bruce Lee" Park, the owner of the label. While yet another cool aspect of this CD is the fact that Mike let his friend who owns a label called Tomato Head Records put 8 of his bands on the end of this comp. Bands that you may have never gotten the chance to hear if it was not for this compilation.
Asian Man Records really knows what they are doing. If you are not familiar with this label I highly recommend that you go to www.AsianManRecords.com (be sure not to go to www.AsianMan.com though, trust me), and purchase this CD for only $4. It will give you an introduction to all of the bands on Asian Man Records, then you can decide which ones you like the best, and purchase the bands full length CD's, at the same site, for only $8ppd. Wow is that a deal or what? The bio pretty much describes what this CD is about. Yes most of the songs are already released, and most of them are good, and no, not all the bands are ska, actually not even half the bands are ska. There is something here for everyone. Another great thing Asian Man Records does here, is they put 7 songs from their friends label. So you get at least one song from all the Asian Man Records bands, then you get seven more bands that are on the label, Tomato Head Records. Those bands include, Blindspot, Young Punch, Nicotine, The Jamons, The Wunder Years, Luckie Strike, Peacocks, and Big D and the Kids Table. So for $4 what do you have to lose.....nothing at all.
