The first song, "Corporate Cover Up", sounds much like one of Value Pac's songs that would have appeared on their first two releases. From there they seem to move on and venture into territory we have yet to see them go into.
On the second track, "Showdown" they move into an almost radio pop sounding song. Yet on track #4, "Bad Bad Me" is where we really see the direction that Value Pac seems to be headed. This song totally sounds like Social Distortion. But this isn't the only song that sounds like Social Distortion. "That's the Way It Goes", "Stoney Plains", "Prodigal", "Dear God" all sound like almost like a generic version of Social Distortion. When they are not trying to sound like Social Distortion they finish out the CD with a few pop punk tunes, and a few radio pop tunes.
Probably the best Value Pac album yet, although I was a bit disappointed with all the very Social Distortion sounding songs. Most of the songs are catchy and can easily be sung along with. If you've been a fan of Value Pac for a few years now then you're probably going to want to check this one out. Lyrically this is by far the best Value Pac albums.
