I've got some good news and some bad news...

The Bad News - The Strokes sound pretty much exactly like they did on their first album. They've thrown in some synthy guitar effects here and there, and some of the song structures are just a tad more complex, but that's about all that's different on Room on Fire.

The Good News - The Strokes sound pretty much exactly like they did on their first album (ha ha ha... see what I did there?). If you're like me then you enjoyed 2001's Is This It for its infectious hooks, nostalgic production, and rock and roll attitude. And if you're like me then you'll probably like Room on Fire for all the same reasons. You'll be hard-pressed to find anything as unforgettable as 'Last Nite' or 'Hard to Explain' on the new album, but you will find 11 solid tracks guaranteed to get your feet a-stompin' and hands a-clappin'. Just don't expect to hear anything that you haven't heard before, and you won't be disappointed.
